Hola Madrid, he regresado!

By matrioshka07

I’m back in Madrid and I’m happy. I arrived on Friday with a delay of only half an hour. I say “only” because the two airports in Bucharest were closed a day before. When I arrived at the airport, there were hundreds of people waiting, sleeping on the floor, on chairs, waiting to take off. It was really sad. As every winter, snow manages to “surprise” the authorities (surprise, it’s winter!) and the city is paralised.

After a very looooooong flight, surrounded by children that were crying and screaming, I arrived to my adoptive city. Blondy waited for me at Barajas (Terminal 4, the worst – you have to take the airport’s subway in order to get your luggage). The first thing I did after meeting him was smoking a cigarette outside.

And after going away from snow and the worst winter I have seen in years, I arrived at 11 degrees Celsius, sun and… Madrid. And the feeling was absolutely wonderful. I came home, yes, home, left my luggage and went out for a walk. We stayed in the sun, went for a little shopping spree, a shitty bar in Fuencarral and home. I was so tired, I felt like I was on drugs, so I went to bed early and had a very good sleep until Blondy returned from his party and woke me up.

I slept on and off for 13 hours. Finally I got some rest after 2 weeks of travelling and not sleeping in my house in Romania. Madrid received me the best way possible. Oh, I missed this city. Hola Madrid, he regresado!
